Dr. Elvis Ngyia
PhD, FNP-BC, PMHNP
Dr. Elvis Ngyia is a highly experienced Board-certified psychiatry mental healthcare nurse practitioner. with over 10 years of clinical practice in various settings. He is a passionate educator and researcher with a focus on medicine and psychotherapy for patients with dual diagnoses. Dr. Ngyia is deeply committed to understanding his patients and creating a safe, trusting environment for healing.
Dr. Ngyia has been in clinical practice for over 10 years. His experience is wide ranging including outpatient family medicine, out patient psychiatry, inpatient psychiatry, medicine, urgent care, long-term care/rehabilitation and occupational medicine. He loves to teach and since 2014, has served as clinical preceptor for nurse practitioner students from the following universities: Walden University, Maryville University, University of Texas at Arlington, Grand Canyon University, Texas Tech University, Brandman University, Baylor University and Pordue University. He has also served as psychiatry content expert supervising Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) students from several universities. His research focus is in medicine and the impact of psychotherapy for patients with dual diagnosis. He is passionate about mental health and spends extensive lengths of time understanding his patients and the sources of their stress.
Dr. Ngyia’s interventional philosophy is simple; everyone can be helped if only the provider engages in a way that builds trust and provides a safe space for healing to occur. Dr. Ngyia lives in Grand Prairie, TX, is married and has three young children.
